Chairman Zhang Xiangyang Attends Research Forum for Private Industrial & Commercial Enterprises “Going Out”

On the afternoon of April 14, 2015, Lin Yifu, Standing Committee Member of CPPCC, Counsellor of State Council and Vice Chairman of ACFIC came to Nantong for the research of Private Enterprises Going Out” together with Lu Qun, Vice Chairman of Jiangsu FIC, Sun Jianhua, Deputy Mayor of Nantong, Xu Shouming, Chairman of Nantong FIC & Vice Chairman of Nantong CPPCC and other leaders. Chiarman Zhang Xiangyang was invited for attendance.

Lin First of all listened to the reports from Nantong Bureau of Commerce, Nantong Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and Nantong Federation of Industry and Commerce. And then Chairman Zhang Xiangyang as the representative of Private Enterprises addressed speech firstly in which he reported the performance of Going Out Strategy in the company as well as the difficulties and problems encountered, and further he made suggestions for Going Out Strategy from 6 aspects-- Innovation of Going Out Style, Facilitation of Customs, Increase of Policy Support, Optimization of Service System, Enforcement of Risk Prevention, Establishment of Coordination System. Lin fully confirmed the great achievement our company made in Going Out and illustrated the necessity for Private Enterprise Going Out together with the path and means of Going Out. He expressed that he will bring the difficulties and suggestions to the Government Decision-making Department for consideration trying best to serve better in Private Enterprise Going Out”.

Lin was born in Taiwan and it is a legend for his swimming across Taiwan Strait on May 1975 to Main Land of China.

He is the founder and first director of the China Center for Economic Research and a former professor of economics at Peking University and at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He received an MBA degree from National Chengchi University in 1978, a Master's degree inpolitical economy from Peking University in 1982, and a PhD in economics from the University of Chicago in 1986.

He was one of the first PRC citizens to receive a PhD in economics from Chicago,[2] and is a leading Chinese economist; he serves as a consultant to major international organizations and is on the editorial board of several international academic economics journals.

On September 16, 2008, Fordham University honored Justin Yifu Lin a reception for his being chief economist and senior vice president of the World Bank.

He received an Honorary Doctorate from Fordham in 2009[4] and was elected a Corresponding Fellow of the British Academy in 2010. His 2012 book, The Quest for Prosperity: How Developing Economies Can Take Off, argued for an active role for government in nurturing development, not just through the traditional provision of infrastructure and legal enforcement, but also by identifying and actively supporting industries that contribute to growth.
