Nantong Construction Group Company Limited (NCGCL) is originated from Nantong Construction Installation Engineering General Corporation (NCIEGC) which was founded in April, 1952. It is the oldest State-run construction enterprise in China and the leader in Nantong “Iron Army”—Nantong Construction Industry. The Group was restructured into a private company in 2004 and was reshuffled as a corporate enterprise in 2006.
        The Group is rated and officially licensed as the Top-Grade General Contractor for Building Construction and Grade I General Contractor for Decoration, Renovation & Design, for M/E Engineering Installation, for Erection of Crane Lifting Equipment, for Ground Base and Foundation Works, for Steel Structure works and Fire Fighting Equipment as well as Grade II Contractor in several other fields. In1999, the Group obtained official license to contract projects directly from outside China and passed the authentication of ISO9002 Quality System In 1997 as well as ISO14000 Environment System and OHSAS 18000 in 2003. Currently, the Group owns 8 subsidiaries and 29 branch companies in majority of cities, provinces and autonomous regions domestically and internationally in the Sudan, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Senegal, Tanzania and Ethiopia. Currently the Group has an enrollment of 1215 technical and managerial employees at various levels. Among them are 14 Senior Engineers at Research level, 115 senior technical titles, 192 intermediate ones, 189 licensed as Constructors and 197 as Associated Constructors. As a large enterprise, the Group possesses over 4000 sets and pieces of construction equipment of various types with construction capability over 10 000 000 M2 pereach year. In 2013, the Group’s turnover reached 13.8 billion RMB.
        The past years have witnessed the Group having introduced new ideas of innovation whilst adopting its fine tradition and having enhanced reform synchronized with development.         For the recent years, the Group has persisted in technological innovation and established Technical Center at provincial level. The Group edited independently or partially 3 industry standards of construction, 4 national construction methods and 20 provincial construction methods and obtained 6 innovation patents and 19 utility model patents. Relying on advanced construction technology, QC system, managing method and exquisite projects, the Group kept its project quality ranking at the advanced level in national construction industry. In recognition of its excellence, the Group since its establishment has been awarded 12 LuBan Prizes and National Excellency Prizes, the top honor in China’s building industry, over 300 provincial or municipal prizes such as “Magnolia Cup” Prize of Shanghai, “Yangtze Cup” Prize of Jiangsu Province, “Great Wall” Cup Prize of Beijing, “Haihe Cup” Prize of Tianjin, “Green Island Cup” Prize of Hainan and the honor of “National Advanced Enterprise in Quality Control”.

In the early 1950s，as one of the earliest construction companies in China, Nantong Construction Group Co., Ltd. was founded at the time of New China’s reconstruction for prosperity with the Company business license endorsed and issued by Mr Chen Yun , one of the new China’s pioneering leaders, the then Vice Premier of the State Council and the Director of Finance & Economic Committee.
Over the last six decades, the Group has been striving ahead of the building construction field with its arduous pioneering efforts and ambition to be the first above all competitors. In 1950s, the company was famous over the Nation for being “undertaking business diligently and frugally with politics in command” as the enterprise mission and was set up as a Red Flag (spearhead) enterprise in the field of construction industry by the Central Government. Thanks to the honors awarded, the Company was selected to participate in the “Construction of Top 10 Capital Projects” inBeijing. In 1960s, we took part in the construction of Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge, the world’s longest road-rail bridge at the time to which we dedicated our wisdom and sweat. The1970s witnessed one of the Company’s main contributions as we joined in the reconstruction of post-quake Tianjin (Municipality directly under the Central Government) and Tangshan (Municipality under China’s Hebei Province), both of which were stricken by a disastrous earthquake at 7.8 on the Richter Scale on July 28, 1976 which killed 242769 lives . Guided by the Nation’s policy of Reform and Opening up to the outside world, in the 1980s, the Company started to expand business and penetrated Shanghai market, thus becoming the first building contractor out of Jiangsu Province who participated in the Municipality’s primary construction. In the 1990s, weathering through the Market Economy, we made a breakthrough in undertaking huge and brand projects as the Company’s great achievements and accomplishments.
Stepping into the 21st century, the Group continued innovative reform and development with rapid expansion in various business sectors and market scales having made remarkable contributions to China’s industrialization and urbanization, which are well received by different aspects of society.
