The Group Company Honored as an “Advanced Enterprise for Red Cross Charitable Donations in Nantong City”

On the morning of May 6, the launch ceremony for the “Red Cross Benevolence Week” event—jointly organized by the Municipal Civilization Office, the Social Work Department, the Education Bureau, the Health Commission, and the Red Cross Society—and a public-service square activity commemorating the 120th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Red Cross were held at the Huanxi Cultural Square in the city center. Yu Lizhong, Vice Mayor of the Municipal People’s Government and President of the Municipal Red Cross Society, along with leaders from the five co-organizing units, attended the event. Zhang Xiangyang, Chairman of the Group Company, was invited to attend. A total of 33 experts from six hospitals, including the Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University, together with Red Cross volunteers, university Red Cross members, and nearly 800 local residents, took part in the activities.

At the launch ceremony, city leaders and guests presented plaques and certificates to representatives of 15 caring enterprises, with the Group being recognized as an “Advanced Enterprise for Red Cross Charitable Donations in Nantong City.” Leaders, guests, hospital experts, Red Cross volunteers, and members of the public jointly witnessed the official launch of Nantong’s “Red Cross Compassion Week” and signed the guest wall, lending their support to Nantong’s Red Cross public welfare initiatives.

Yu Lizhong, Vice Mayor of the Municipal People’s Government and President of the Nantong Red Cross Society, delivered a speech and officially declared the launch of the event. Mayor Yu emphasized that Red Cross societies at all levels throughout the city should take this “Red Cross Benevolence Week” as an opportunity to further enhance the quality and effectiveness of their core responsibilities—providing emergency relief, humanitarian assistance, and blood donation—and to better explore and promote Nantong’s unique Red Cross culture. He also urged greater efforts in public awareness-raising and guidance to foster a positive social environment in which everyone understands and supports the work of the Red Cross. He expressed the hope that business leaders will follow the example of the pioneering philanthropist Zhang Jian by actively engaging in public welfare and charitable activities, thereby demonstrating their commitment to corporate social responsibility; and that volunteers will continue to dedicate themselves to volunteer service, bringing love and warmth to more people.

For many years, Nantong Construction Engineering Group has regarded fulfilling its social responsibility as its core mission. While steadfastly pursuing reform and development and striving for excellence, the Group has upheld and promoted the traditional Chinese virtues of generosity, philanthropy, poverty alleviation, and assistance to those in need. It has also actively responded to charitable donation campaigns organized by charitable organizations at both the municipal and district levels in Nantong, demonstrating its commitment to giving back to society through concrete actions.
