Phase II of Xinghu City Plaza Wins Two First Prizes for Comprehensive BIM Application

Recently, the Phase II BIM Integrated Application Project for Xinghu City Plaza was awarded first prize in both the 3rd “New Urban Construction Cup” International BIM/CIM Application Competition and the 2024 Jiangsu Province Construction Engineering BIM Application Competition, thanks to its outstanding technological innovation and practical achievements. This recognition underscores the project’s leading position and significant industry influence in the application of BIM technology.
The Phase II project of Xinghu City Plaza has achieved deep, end-to-end integration of BIM technology across all phases and disciplines. By leveraging a suite of BIM applications—including 3D site layout, BIM+AR, formwork and scaffolding design, MEP coordination, clash detection, detailed design of equipment rooms, preparation of drawings for embedded and reserved components, and BIM-assisted review of construction drawings—the project team has effectively addressed key practical challenges such as schedule control, materials and equipment management, workforce management, and quality and safety assurance. In addition, with a focus on IoT-based smart-device monitoring, the project has realized four “smart” objectives: intelligent project management, intelligent construction, intelligent monitoring, and intelligent operations and maintenance.
In the 3rd “New Urban Construction Cup” International BIM/CIM Application Competition, the Phase II Star Lake City Plaza project stood out among 2,571 entries submitted by more than 1,000 organizations, thanks to its innovative applications and practical implementation of BIM technology, and was awarded the First Prize in the Comprehensive Category. Similarly, in the 2024 Jiangsu Province Construction Engineering BIM Application Competition, the project was recognized with a Category I award in the Comprehensive Category for its outstanding BIM application achievements.
The receipt of these two prestigious awards not only recognizes the achievements in BIM technology application for Phase II of the Xinghu City Plaza project, but also affirms the Group’s longstanding efforts and innovations in the BIM field. Moving forward, the Group’s BIM Center will continue to drive R&D and innovation to elevate the application of BIM technology in the construction industry, accelerate the Group’s digital transformation and upgrade, and make new and greater contributions to the enterprise’s high-quality development.
