The Group Company Holds Work Report Meetings for Its Mozambique and UAE Branches

On the afternoon of November 4, the Group held a work-report meeting for its Mozambique and UAE subsidiaries in the Headquarters Conference Hall. Attending the meeting were Group leaders Zhang Zhongda, Zhong Yiming, Chen Guoli, Huang Jing, and Shao Jinman, as well as heads of relevant departments at Headquarters. Chairman Zhang Xiangyang attended the meeting and delivered a concluding address.

At the briefing, Yang Jianming, General Manager of the Mozambique Branch, and Chen Guoli, General Manager of the Overseas Branch, delivered work reports on behalf of the Mozambique Branch and the UAE Branch, respectively. They provided a comprehensive and in-depth overview of the branches’ activities since the beginning of the year, covering such areas as political and economic developments in their host countries, the security situation and the engineering contracting market, the status of ongoing bidding and tender projects, the performance of contracts and the management of costs and funds for projects under construction, the operational performance of investment projects, and human resource management. They also objectively analyzed the existing problems and challenges and put forward specific action plans for advancing the high-quality development of the branches in the next phase.

Leaders of the Group Company who attended the briefing session offered comments on the work reports of the two branch companies, put forward targeted opinions and suggestions for further improving the branches’ operations, and expressed the hope that overseas personnel would continue to overcome challenges, expand business activities, effectively manage risks, and achieve even greater successes.

In his concluding remarks, Chairman Zhang Xiangyang fully commended the achievements of the Mozambique Branch and the UAE Branch, and expressed heartfelt gratitude to all overseas employees for their long-standing hard work. He pointed out that, at present, the domestic construction market is facing a sustained downturn that has exceeded expectations, driven by multiple factors such as economic-cycle adjustments and intensifying competition, with mounting dual pressures from shrinking market capacity and compressed profit margins. Against this backdrop, further leveraging the company’s comparative advantages in talent reserves, project management, and resource integration, deepening the implementation of the new round of the “Going Global” strategy, and making all-out efforts to expand into international markets are not only pragmatic responses to the current challenges but also fundamental measures and the only viable path for the enterprise to ensure its survival and pursue sustainable development—issues that bear on the Group’s long-term strategic interests. With regard to the next steps for the Mozambique Branch and the UAE Branch, Chairman Zhang Xiangyang set forth three core requirements: First, enhance the ability to develop and expand operations in the respective host-country markets—deeply cultivating traditional African markets, increasing market share in the Middle East, elevating political awareness and strengthening confidence in establishing a solid foothold, broadening thinking on development and innovating approaches to market expansion, while consolidating market share through high-quality contract performance and maintaining stable operating scale; second, strengthen management of Chinese personnel, optimize human-resource allocation, improve training and performance-assessment mechanisms, reinforce compliance management and safety controls, elevate team professionalism and operational effectiveness, and achieve “right person–right position, quality improvement and efficiency gains”; third, intensify the collection of accounts receivable for engineering projects, establish a coordinated mechanism linking domestic and overseas operations, refine the accounts-receivable ledger and clarify responsibilities, and comprehensively employ policy support and compliance measures to advance debt-collection efforts, ensuring timely receipt of funds and safeguarding the stable operation of the branches. Finally, he called on all overseas colleagues to remain true to their original aspirations, maintain unwavering confidence, and continue to carry forward, in the new era, the Group’s corporate spirit of “hardship and pioneering” as well as the four exemplary spirits of the “Advanced Collective of Overseas Construction Personnel.” He urged everyone to demonstrate even greater fighting spirit and enterprising drive, adopt a more pragmatic work style, continuously improve the quality of overseas operations and core competitiveness, showcase the Nantong Construction Engineering Group’s image in the international engineering-construction contracting market, and make new and greater contributions to the Group’s sustained, steady, and healthy development.
