More than 300 representatives attended the event, including heads of publicity departments from construction (industry) associations and member enterprises across all cities and counties in the province, industry and enterprise publicity correspondents, as well as heads and editorial staff of industry and enterprise newspapers, periodicals, and online platforms. This newspaper has been named one of the “Top Ten Newspapers” in the provincial construction industry.
On October 30, 2012, the Jiangsu Province Training Workshop on Media and Publicity in the Construction Industry, together with the Commendation Conference for Outstanding Newspapers, Periodicals, Online Platforms, and Outstanding Correspondents, was held at the Nanjing Shuguang International Hotel. More than 300 participants attended the event, including heads of publicity departments from construction (industry) associations and member enterprises across all cities and counties in the province, industry and enterprise publicity correspondents, as well as heads and editorial staff of industry and enterprise newspapers, periodicals, and online platforms. The meeting was chaired by Liu Guoping, Deputy Secretary-General of the Jiangsu Provincial Construction Association.
Shi Jinchang, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the Jiangsu Provincial Journalists Association and a senior journalist, delivered a special lecture titled “Even Small Newspapers Can Have a Broad Vision” and provided a brief review of construction-industry newspapers across the province. In discussing the newspapers’ focused coverage of important events and major activities, Secretary Shi specifically commended publications such as “Nantong Construction Engineering” and “Zhenjiang Construction Engineering,” noting that their rich combination of text and images strikes a balance between solemnity and vibrancy, clearly reflecting the unique craftsmanship of their editors and publishers. Hang Banghua, Director of the Editorial Office of the Masses Magazine of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and a senior editor, and Tao Da, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of China Jiangsu Net and a senior editor, each offered insightful guidance on how to run periodicals and corporate websites effectively.
The conference honored the “Top Ten Newspapers,” “Top Ten Journals,” “Top Ten Websites,” and “Top Ten Correspondents” of the province for 2011, as well as 23 outstanding newspapers, 9 outstanding journals, 18 outstanding websites, and 51 outstanding correspondents. The Nantong Construction Engineering Newspaper was awarded the title of “Top Ten Newspaper,” and Comrade Tong Xinghua was recognized as an “Outstanding Correspondent.”
