Chairman Zhang Xiangyang Attends the Delivery Ceremony and Is Invited to Watch a Domestic Football League Match in Serbia
On November 15, Zhang Xiangyang, Chairman of the Group Company, led a fact-finding and慰问 delegation comprising Chen Guoli, Deputy General Manager of the Group; Shao Jinman, Chief Accountant; and Zhang Xiyi, Deputy General Manager of the Overseas Branch, to Senegal. The delegation attended the official inauguration ceremony for the renovation project of three regional stadiums in Senegal, conducted a market survey, and extended慰问 to Chinese personnel stationed in Senegal.
The project to renovate and maintain three regional stadiums in Tambacounda, Louga, and Kolda in Senegal is a comprehensive foreign aid project undertaken by the Chinese government. The stadiums are located in the capitals of the respective administrative regions—Tambacounda, Louga, and Kolda—and the main scope of work includes the demolition and reconstruction of the stands at the Louga and Kolda stadiums, as well as the interior and exterior decoration, structural reinforcement, water supply and drainage, HVAC, fire protection, power supply, lighting and distribution, public address and sound reinforcement systems, lightning protection and grounding system upgrades and equipment replacement, and the construction of new synthetic running tracks, artificial turf, and other related sports facilities at the Tambacounda stadium.
In September 2009, our company participated in the tender for an economic assistance project organized by the Ministry of Commerce and was successfully awarded the contract. The project officially commenced on September 16, 2010, and was formally completed on June 16, 2013. It subsequently passed the completion acceptance inspections conducted by the Chinese expert panel appointed by the Ministry of Commerce and the Serbian expert panel appointed by the Serbian Ministry of Sports, earning unanimous high praise from all parties involved.

The people of Senegal have a deep passion for sports, particularly football. The national team once achieved fourth place at the Korea–Japan World Cup and has produced numerous outstanding players who now compete for top European clubs. Recently, Senegal’s domestic football league officially kicked off, with the Ministry of Sports formally approving the use of a new stadium built with Chinese assistance as a match venue. The league features a large number of participating teams and an extensive match schedule, yet high-quality domestic venues are limited. During the season, on average four official matches are held each day at a single stadium, placing extremely high demands on the pitch, stands, and all supporting facilities. The three regional stadiums constructed by our company all serve as league venues, hosting all league matches for their respective administrative regions, and Chairman Zhang Xiangyang was invited to attend several matches.
Wherever Chairman Zhang Xiangyang and his delegation went, their counterparts from the host country consistently praised the construction quality of the stadium we built, with spectators and athletes alike giving it a thumbs-up and expressing their gratitude to Nantong Construction Engineering for providing such a high-quality sports facility.
During his stay in Senegal, Chairman Zhang Xiangyang chaired a meeting of all remaining members of the Senegal Assistance Technical Team and heard a work report from Comrade Yang Jianming, the team leader. Chairman Zhang fully commended the team’s achievements and instructed them to conduct a thorough review of their more than three years of work in Senegal. While ensuring the proper maintenance and operation of ongoing projects, they are to leverage the company’s established brand reputation, market influence, and extensive social networks to capitalize on this overseas assistance project as a gateway for entering new markets, thereby establishing a solid foothold in Senegal. To this end, they should intensify communication with the local government, businesses, and Chinese-invested enterprises, expand business operations, lay the foundation for the company’s long-term development in Senegal, and strive to extend their reach into other West African countries.
Chairman Zhang Xiangyang also visited the Sinohydro camp construction site undertaken by our company to extend his condolences to the on-site workers, and paid a courtesy call on Mr. Zhao Hui, General Manager of Sinohydro Overseas Cooperation Company (CWE) Senegal, where the two parties reached a consensus on strategic cooperation in Senegal.
During his stay in Senegal, Chairman Zhang Xiangyang also paid a courtesy call on the relevant leaders of the Commercial Counselor’s Office of the Chinese Embassy in Senegal.
