Chairman Zhang Xiangyang Visits Mozambique for Inspection and Research
From December 16 to 19, a delegation led by Zhang Xiangyang, Chairman of the Group; Chen Guoli, Deputy General Manager and General Manager of the Overseas Branch; Huang Jing, Chief Economist; and other senior executives visited Mozambique for an inspection and research mission.
On the afternoon of the 15th, Chairman Zhang Xiangyang and other leaders, after briefly resting upon disembarking from their flight, immediately proceeded to the Mozambique branch headquarters to visit the employees working there. They conveyed greetings from the Group’s headquarters, commended the staff for their hard work to date, and encouraged them to continue striving to elevate the Mozambique branch’s operations to new heights through even greater dedication.
Vigorously implementing the “go global” strategy, real estate development is a key area for the Group’s overseas market expansion and also the primary focus of Chairman Zhang Xiangyang’s current inspection tour. From the 16th to the 19th, Chairman Zhang Xiangyang and his delegation conducted on-site inspections of two mixed-use land parcels in central Maputo and the surrounding market conditions for commercial housing development projects. They reviewed the progress of these projects on the ground, commended the advancements made thus far, and urged the construction teams to further accelerate work and complete the projects as soon as possible, so that the two developments can be promptly launched for sale and valuable experience in development and sales can be accumulated. During the visit, the delegation also examined Mozambique’s real estate market, conducting on-site assessments of several parcels currently being considered for transfer by the local owners. At each site, Chairman Zhang meticulously inquired about relevant property details, personally inspected the surrounding environment, and gained a thorough understanding of potential zoning plans, nearby housing types and price levels. He also worked with the team to carefully calculate the expected return on investment for each parcel. To gain a deeper understanding of the Mozambican real estate market, Chairman Zhang Xiangyang and his delegation further visited residential projects jointly developed by Nanjing Zhuzong and Nanjing Jinji, as well as the sites and sales offices of the Zhongjiang International and Henan International development projects, conducting comprehensive market research. Chairman Zhang emphasized that Mozambique has enjoyed political stability in recent years, coupled with ongoing improvements to its investment climate that encourage the development of mineral, energy, agricultural, forestry, and fishery resources. As a result, the economy has maintained steady growth, with a population growth rate of 2.8% and an urbanization rate of less than 40%, creating substantial opportunities for real estate development. The key, he stressed, is to select prime land parcels, conduct thorough preliminary market research and project planning, and ensure meticulous organization and execution, so that every real estate development endeavor achieves success.

The exhibition featured promotional images of nearly 60 Chinese enterprises operating in Mozambique, including Nantong Construction Engineering Group. During the inspection, Chairman Zhang Xiangyang and his delegation also heard reports on the operations and financial performance of the Mozambique branch and convened a symposium with representatives of the branch’s staff stationed in Mozambique.
