On the occasion of the year-end, the Group Company convened a regular political work meeting in the conference room of the Third Branch Company. Nearly thirty participants attended, including branch secretaries and union chairpersons from all subordinate units, as well as staff from the Group Company’s Party and Mass Work Department. Li Weidong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, attended the meeting and delivered an important address, while Shan Rong, Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, gave a briefing on studying the report to the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. The meeting was chaired by Ge Xuxin, Union Chairperson and Head of the Party and Mass Work Department.
As the host, Wang Shaobo, Deputy Secretary of the Third Branch and Chairman of the Trade Union, began by providing an overview of the branch’s and the trade union’s work. He shared his experiences in several key areas: strengthening branch building and enhancing its role as a robust fighting fortress; focusing on production and operations to highlight the exemplary and leading role of Party members; and aligning all efforts with the central tasks while effectively leveraging Party building to drive trade union and Youth League development.
The Party and Mass Work Department reviewed the Group’s key party-building and trade-union initiatives for 2017, made specific arrangements for party-building and trade-union work at the year-end and year-beginning, and outlined the plan for the 2017 performance appraisal.
Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, Shan Rong, delivered a briefing on studying and implementing the spirit of the 19th National Congress, titled “Upholding Our Original Aspiration to Serve the People and Fulfilling Our Mission to Build the Chinese Dream.” Secretary Shan’s presentation covered three key aspects: fully recognizing the significance of studying and publicizing the spirit of the 19th National Congress; outlining the main contents of the report to the Congress; and exploring how to study and implement this spirit. He placed particular emphasis on the methods for doing so, stressing that learning the spirit of the 19th National Congress requires holistic thinking, focusing on the core issues, and grasping the crucial points. Moreover, he pointed out that the study and implementation of the 19th National Congress spirit should be integrated with such specific tasks as the regularized education campaign of “Studying the Party Constitution and Party Rules and Being a Model Communist,” the assessment of the Party-building target responsibility system, the planning of 2018 work, democratic evaluations of Party members, democratic life meetings, the “Three Meetings and One Lesson” system, the promotion of the craftsman spirit, and the thorough implementation of the spirit of the 2017 Central Economic Work Conference—ensuring that these efforts are closely aligned with the actual conditions of the enterprise and serve as a guiding force for its development.
Li Weidong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, concluded by emphasizing key tasks and setting forth specific requirements. First, we must treat studying, publicizing, and implementing the spirit of the 19th National Congress as the top political priority for the present and the period ahead, ensuring that we grasp its rich connotations accurately, deeply understand the essential spirit and scientific substance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and truly master, comprehend, and put it into practice. Second, we must strengthen organizational development and the building of the cadre team, fully leveraging the role of Party organizations and members in economic development and enterprise growth. Third, we must effectively prevent and defuse major risks. In accordance with the guiding principles of the 2017 Central Economic Work Conference, we should adhere to the general principle of seeking progress while maintaining stability, make comprehensive plans for all work in 2018, proactively identify and mitigate various risks in the course of enterprise development, and ensure the steady and healthy development of the enterprise. Fourth, we must do a good job in ideological and political work among employees to maintain workforce stability. We should also properly carry out year-end distribution of benefits to employees, ensuring that their labor is duly rewarded and that the enterprise has a strong pool of talent to sustain its long-term development.
