Xu Huimin, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Acting Mayor, Conducts a Field Inspection of the Innovation No. 1 Project in the Central Innovation Zone

On the morning of May 29, Xu Huimin, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Acting Mayor, conducted an inspection and research visit to the Innovation No. 1 Primary School project—the key livelihood project in Nantong Central Innovation Zone—to gain an understanding of the progress of construction and related matters. Shen Lei, Member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Secretary-General; Lu Weidong, Vice Mayor; and Chen Jun, Secretary-General of the Municipal Government, also took part in the inspection. Zhang Xiangyang, Chairman of the Group Company, and Zhong Yiming, Deputy General Manager and General Manager of the Third Branch Company, accompanied the municipal leaders during the visit. During the inspection, Acting Mayor Xu Huimin carefully inquired about and reviewed the scale of the school’s construction project, the progress of construction, the planned completion date, and construction safety, expressing satisfaction with the project’s advancement. He emphasized the need to steadfastly focus on meeting the construction schedule, strengthening management, and prioritizing quality.

During the inspection, Acting Mayor Xu Huimin carefully inquired about and gained a thorough understanding of the school project’s scale, construction progress, completion timeline, and construction safety, expressing satisfaction with the project’s advancement. He emphasized the need to rigorously manage the construction schedule, strengthen project management, prioritize quality, and ensure safety, with the goal of delivering a high-quality, exemplary project. He specifically instructed the project team to attach great importance to environmental protection throughout the construction process, to use environmentally friendly materials wherever possible, to implement robust environmental safeguards at the construction site, and to strive to build Innovation Primary School into a safe and reliable project. He also pointed out that the quality of supporting facilities determines the caliber of talent attracted; therefore, public utilities, landscape greening, and infrastructure projects should serve as key levers to advance functional development and create an attractive environment, leveraging first-class supporting infrastructure to attract top-tier resources and factors of production. The aim is to transform the Central Innovation Zone into a premier hub for science and technology innovation resources, thereby ensuring its long-term, sustainable development.
The Innovation Primary School project, undertaken by the Third Branch Company, is a key livelihood project in the Central Innovation Zone. Located east of Tongfu Road and north of Century Avenue, the project covers approximately 80 mu of land, with a total floor area of 35,000 square meters, including 5,000 square meters of underground space. It also includes the construction of a 400-meter standard track and field stadium along with associated sports facilities, on-campus roads, and landscaped greenery, with a total investment of RMB 250 million. Construction commenced in October 2017; to date, the underground works have been successfully completed, and the project has now entered the critical phase of main structural construction. Following the inspection by city leaders, Chairman Zhang Xiangyang immediately convened a meeting of the project management team at the construction site. He urged the project team to take this inspection as a new starting point, make meticulous plans, and devote all efforts to effective construction organization, ensuring that the project is completed on schedule while maintaining stringent safety and quality standards, thereby delivering a satisfactory outcome to the Municipal Party Committee, the Municipal Government, and the Central Innovation Zone.
