To further strengthen the ties between the college and local enterprises, gain a deeper understanding of employers’ staffing needs, and enhance the college’s student training in a more targeted manner, on October 12, Wu Lihua, Vice President of Nantong Vocational College of Shipping, led a delegation to the company’s headquarters for an inspection and exchange. Zhang Xiangyang, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman, and General Manager of the Group; Yi Xingzhong, Deputy General Manager and Deputy Chief Engineer; Ge Xuxin, Chairman of the Trade Union, and other leaders attended the reception. Vice President Wu Lihua explained that Nantong Vocational College of Shipping is a full-time general institution of higher education approved by the People’s Government of Jiangsu Province. Founded in 1960, it is under the jurisdiction of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Transport.

Vice President Wu Lihua stated that Nantong Vocational College of Shipping is a full-time general institution of higher education approved by the People’s Government of Jiangsu Province. Established in 1960, it is under the jurisdiction of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Transport. The college primarily designs its programs around the maritime transport industry chain, having developed an integrated professional cluster encompassing shipbuilding, ship operation, ship management, waterway navigation, port operations, and logistics. This has enabled the institution to cultivate and supply a large number of high-caliber technical and skilled professionals for the development of a comprehensive transportation system, particularly for the maritime transport sector. Beginning in 2007, the college established its first construction-related program within the Department of Shipbuilding and Ocean Engineering; since then, it has expanded to offer three construction-related majors: Construction Engineering Technology, Construction Project Supervision, and Construction Cost Estimation.
Subsequently, Chairman Zhang Xiangyang briefed the leadership of the Aviation Institute on Nantong Construction Engineering’s development history and its strategies for attracting and cultivating talent. He stated that in recent years the Group has progressively refined its talent-acquisition framework, placing greater emphasis on—and expanding—its recruitment of graduates from higher vocational colleges, with the aim of identifying and developing a pool of high-caliber professionals who are resilient, hardworking, and capable of excelling in frontline, entry-level positions.
During the inspection and exchange, representatives from the university and the enterprise engaged in discussions and exchanges on specific issues such as further strengthening university–enterprise cooperation, innovating industry–university–research collaboration mechanisms, cultivating high-quality talent aligned with enterprise development needs, and promoting internships and employment for college students. Both sides expressed their commitment to enhancing coordination in talent development, student internships, and employment, maintaining closer ties, and striving for mutually beneficial cooperation.
