Leaders of the Chinese Embassy in Sudan Visit Nantong Hotel to Provide Guidance on Epidemic Prevention and Control Work

On February 16, Ambassador Ma Xinmin of the Chinese Embassy in Sudan, Counselor Zhang Ming, Secretary Yang Qichun, and other officials visited Nantong Hotel to provide guidance on epidemic prevention and control. Project Manager Xi Jie and Lu Jun, head of Nantong Hotel, were responsible for reception and accompanying the leaders on their inspection tour, during which they examined areas such as the hotel lobby, restaurant, and guest rooms.

Subsequently, the embassy leadership visited the headquarters of Nantong Construction Engineering Sudan Co., Ltd. on the seventh floor of the hotel. In the conference room, Ambassador Ma and other officials reviewed a PowerPoint presentation that provided an overview of Nantong’s 32-year history and business performance in Sudan, and also heard a briefing on the hotel’s efforts to prevent and control the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the meeting, Ambassador Ma commended Nantong Hotel’s ongoing efforts in COVID-19 prevention and control, noting, “Nantong Hotel is a well-loved haven for Chinese nationals and overseas Chinese in Jiangsu Province, and as such enjoys a strong reputation.” Ambassador Ma added, “Precisely because of this, there is relatively frequent interaction among hotel staff, which in turn introduces certain risk factors. It is imperative to always put the safety and health of individuals first and to view commercial interests in the long term. Measures should be taken to restrict the flow of people within the hotel, implement appropriate protective measures for guests, and make special arrangements for room accommodations and dining. In response to some inappropriate remarks, false reports, and even outright lies regarding China’s recent epidemic situation, Nantong Hotel must promptly provide clarifications and explanations to its local employees, as well as to those around them—friends, family, and others—through appropriate channels.”
Our company’s representatives listened attentively to the Ambassador’s speech and directives. Following the meeting, Ambassador Ma distributed hygiene and epidemic-prevention supplies to the hotel staff, encouraging them to remain steadfast in their confidence, work together in solidarity, and adopt science-based prevention and control measures. He expressed firm belief that, under the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee and with the concerted efforts of people at home and abroad, we will surely emerge victorious in this critical battle against the epidemic.
