Through a series of activities—including mobilization meetings for thematic education, study of the Party Constitution and Party regulations, screenings of thematic educational programs featuring both exemplary and cautionary cases, re-affirmation of the Party membership oath, reports on advanced deeds, and thematic Party lectures—our company has continuously deepened the implementation of thematic education, thereby injecting strong endogenous momentum into the company’s reform and development.
I. The Company Thoroughly Implements the Party’s Theme Education on “Staying True to Our Original Aspiration and Keeping Our Mission Firmly in Mind”
Through a series of activities—including mobilization meetings for thematic education, study of the Party Constitution and Party regulations, screenings of thematic educational programs featuring both exemplary and cautionary cases, recitation of the Party membership oath, reports on advanced deeds, and thematic Party lectures—our company has continuously deepened the implementation of thematic education, thereby injecting strong endogenous momentum into its reform and development.
II. Steady and Progressive Business Performance
Throughout the year, the company won bids for 435 projects with a total construction area of 6.035 million square meters. The value of newly signed engineering contracts once again surpassed RMB 20 billion, while both construction output and settled revenue reached new all-time highs. These achievements are the result of the entire organization rising to challenges and delivering solid performance amid downward macroeconomic pressures and a severe and complex construction market environment—results that were hard-earned.
III. New Breakthroughs in the Company’s Overseas Market Development
The company has completed its corporate registration in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Colombo, Sri Lanka, and has commenced undertaking engineering projects. To date, the company has established branches in ten overseas countries to carry out engineering contracting operations.
IV. The Company Convenes the First Session of the Fourth Term Congress of Employee Representatives
On June 22, the company convened the First Session of the Fourth Term Congress of Employee Representatives and the Trade Union Congress, at which Chairman Zhang Xiangyang delivered an administrative work report entitled “Stay True to Our Original Aspiration, Keep Our Mission Firmly in Mind, Carry Forward the Past While Ushering in the Future, Pursue Our Dreams with Determination, and Strive to Usher in a New Era of High-Quality Corporate Development.”
V. The Company Convenes the Fifteenth Shareholders’ Meeting
On June 23, the Company’s 15th General Meeting of Shareholders was held in the Headquarters Conference Hall. A total of 31 registered shareholders attended the meeting. Chairman Zhang Xiangyang presided over the meeting and delivered the Board of Directors’ Work Report for 2018, while Supervisory Board Chair Li Weidong presented the Supervisory Board’s Work Report for 2018. The meeting reviewed and approved all proposed motions and resolutions.
VI. The Company Holds a Work Conference on Preventing and Resolving Major Risks
On April 13, the company convened a work conference on preventing and resolving major risks, at which comprehensive arrangements and deployments were made for all efforts to prevent and resolve significant corporate risks.
VII. New Achievements in Corporate Brand Building
The company has been honored with titles such as “Top 500 Private Enterprises in China,” “Top 250 Global International Contractors by ENR,” “Top 80 Chinese Contractors,” “AAA Credit Rating Enterprise,” and “Model Integrity Enterprise in China’s Engineering Construction.” In addition, the Star Lake City Plaza Project—Lot A, undertaken by the Third Branch Company—has been awarded the National Quality Engineering Award.
VIII. New Achievements in the Company’s Talent Development Initiative
Throughout the year, the company recruited a total of 68 graduates from colleges and universities, among whom 28 obtained senior professional titles and 83 obtained intermediate professional titles; additionally, 65 new Grade-I Construction Engineers and 59 new Grade-II Construction Engineers were registered. By the end of 2019, the company had 22 researchers holding senior professional titles, 150 holding senior professional titles, 322 holding intermediate professional titles, and 247 holding junior professional titles; it also had 363 registered Grade-I Construction Engineers and 304 registered Grade-II Construction Engineers.
IX. The Company Holds a Report Meeting on the Outstanding Deeds of Comrades Ling Jinxiang and Wang Kuiqing
On July 20 and October 12, the company held report meetings on the exemplary deeds of Comrades Ling Jinxiang and Wang Kuiqing, and conferred upon them the honorary title of “Model Communist Party Member of Nantong Construction Engineering Group,” calling on the entire company to swiftly launch a vigorous campaign to learn from role models, identify gaps, set clear goals, and ensure effective implementation.
X. The Company Holds a Conference to Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Reform and Development
On December 28, the grand conference commemorating the 20th anniversary of the reform and development of Nantong Construction Engineering Group was solemnly held at the Riverside InterContinental Hotel. The conference thoroughly reviewed the remarkable achievements and invaluable experience accumulated over the past two decades of reform and development, recognized outstanding individuals, uplifted morale, boosted motivation, and inspired all employees of Nantong Construction Engineering to carry forward their efforts and forge ahead with unwavering resolve on the new journey of reform and development.
