In the fragrant month of April, golden hues and vibrant colors abound. On the morning of April 10, Chongchuan District held a ceremony to mark the simultaneous commencement of several major and ultra-large projects for 2020, as well as the groundbreaking for the Rixin Electrical Appliances Project. Liu Hao, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Nantong Municipal Committee and Secretary of the Chongchuan District Party Committee; Jiang Dong, Vice Mayor of the Nantong Municipal People’s Government; leaders from the four leading bodies of Chongchuan District and relevant departments; and Zhang Xiangyang, Party Secretary, Chairman, and General Manager of the Group Company, along with Zhong Yiming, Deputy General Manager of the Group Company and General Manager of the Third Branch Company, attended the event as representatives of the general construction contractor for the Rixin Electrical Appliances Project. The commencement and groundbreaking ceremonies were presided over by Qian Suomei, Deputy Secretary of the Chongchuan District Party Committee and District Mayor.

The projects commencing construction at this centralized groundbreaking event are major, ultra-large-scale investment projects attracted by Chongchuan District in 2020. Among them, the Third Branch of a leading group company has won the bid to undertake the Suzhou Rixin Electrical Appliances Project, which is located east of Shilun Road and north of the Planned Road in Chongchuan District. The project has a total construction area of approximately 90,000 square meters, a total contract value of about RMB 200 million, and a construction period of 300 days, with an intended completion date of January 29, 2021.

Suzhou Rixin Electrical Appliances Co., Ltd., established in 2011, is a high-tech enterprise integrating research and development, manufacturing, and sales. The company primarily produces household cleaning appliances, with its products exported to 74 countries and regions across Europe, North America, Japan, South Korea, and other markets, and serves as a key partner to well-known brands such as Midea and Haier. Mr. Zhang Tao, Chairman of Rixin Electrical Appliances, stated that Nantong’s advantageous geographic location and robust talent pool made it the preferred site for the company’s new project. Over the next five years, the company aims to achieve annual sales exceeding RMB 1 billion.

At the groundbreaking and commencement ceremonies, Secretary Liu Hao emphasized that advancing projects is tantamount to driving development, and that the entire district must steadfastly regard project construction as its top priority while vigorously implementing the “Year of Breakthroughs in Investment Attraction.” Since the beginning of this year, the district has been firmly focused on the goals of ranking first in the city in terms of overall economic output and climbing ten places among urban districts in the province in terms of high-quality development. In line with the Municipal Party Committee’s call for a “Year of Breakthroughs in Major Projects,” the district has strengthened its commitment to prioritizing and scaling up major projects, concentrating on high-end sectors, targeting key large-scale initiatives, and continuously deepening efforts in investment attraction. The projects commencing today have a total investment exceeding RMB 2.5 billion, covering strategic emerging industries such as energy conservation and environmental protection, information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, and new materials—industries characterized by high technological content, strong industrial spillover effects, and promising market prospects. These projects will undoubtedly inject new momentum into expanding the district’s industrial scale and elevating its quality. Moreover, Chongchuan District is committed to providing an even higher-quality business environment and more comprehensive services to create better conditions for enterprises to maintain stable production, ensure smooth project implementation and construction, and foster robust industrial growth.
Speech by Vice Mayor Jiang Dong
In his address, Vice Mayor Jiang Dong pointed out that this year marks the concluding year for fully building a moderately prosperous society and for implementing the 13th Five-Year Plan; it is also a pivotal year for translating the national strategy of integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta into concrete results in Nantong, and, moreover, the year in which Nantong’s economic output surpassed RMB 1 trillion. At present, the entire city is intensively studying Suzhou’s “three key strengths,” and it is hoped that Chongchuan District will take this as an opportunity to further deepen its learning from and draw on Suzhou’s tenacious drive and resilience in project development, vigorously advancing the construction of major and high-quality projects. The district should strive to become a powerful magnet for investment attraction, the main battlefield for project development, and a new engine for innovative growth, thereby providing practical answers to the four fundamental questions about Nantong’s development through concrete actions to secure projects and boost industries, and jointly writing a new chapter in the building of a new Nantong.

Amid the thunderous sound of ceremonial gun salutes, Chairman Zhang Xiangyang, Secretary Liu Hao, Vice Mayor Jiang Dong, District Chief Qian Suomei, and Chairman Zhang Tao of Rixin Electric, among other leaders, jointly laid the foundation stone and compacted the soil for the Rixin Electric project.
