On April 18, the final roof slab at Yongyi Road Station on Phase I of Nantong Metro Line 2—constructed by a joint venture between China Railway Tunnel Bureau Group and Nantong Construction Engineering Group—was successfully poured, marking the completion of shoring and closure for the large-excavation section under Lot 04 of Phase I and the successful capping of the main structure of the underground two-level island platform station. This milestone represents a significant phase victory for the project and makes this lot the first within Phase I of Line 2 to achieve complete structural completion of the station under a joint-venture contract.

Since winning the bid in October 2018, the joint venture between China Railway Tunnel Bureau Group and Nantong Construction Engineering Group has leveraged the former’s expertise in tunnel construction and the latter’s strong local resources as a regional enterprise to achieve complementary strengths and close collaboration. Through meticulous project organization and execution, the joint venture has successfully completed the construction tasks on time and to the highest quality standards, delivering results that exceed the sum of its individual parts—“1+1>2.” Moving forward, under the firm leadership of Nantong Urban Rail Transit Company, the project team will rigorously implement the spirit of the company’s “100-Day Campaign” for comprehensive safety inspections, rectification, and improvement, firmly upholding the principles of “quality first, safety paramount.” By identifying and addressing the key and challenging aspects of on-site construction, the team will set effective production targets, cascade these objectives down through all levels of the organization, establish clear timelines and performance benchmarks, assign specific responsibilities to individual work teams and accountable individuals, and ensure that all planned construction milestones are met with guaranteed quality and quantity. At the same time, the team will apply the “fight, pioneer, integrate” spirit embodied in Suzhou’s “Three Great Treasures” to frontline operations, leading the entire joint-venture project team to stay true to its original mission and commitment, and thereby contributing to the seamless completion of the entire Phase I of Line 2.
