Vice Mayor Wang Hongtao Visits the Company for Research and Guidance

On the morning of August 7, Wang Hongtao, Vice Mayor of the Nantong Municipal People’s Government, led a delegation to visit and provide guidance at our company. Accompanying the delegation were officials from the Municipal Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning, the Municipal Housing and Urban–Rural Development Bureau, the Municipal Commerce Bureau, the Municipal Administrative Approval Bureau, the Project代建 Center, as well as representatives from the Chongchuan District Government, the District Housing and Urban–Rural Development Bureau, and the Xinchengqiao Subdistrict. Zhang Xiangyang, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman, and General Manager of the Group, together with senior executives Li Weidong, Huang Jing, Shao Jinman, Chen Guoli, Zhong Yiming, Yu Fengbin, Qiu Lin, and others, also attended the inspection.
At the research meeting, Chairman Zhang Xiangyang delivered an enthusiastic address. He began by extending, on behalf of the Group, a warm welcome to Vice Mayor Wang Hongtao and his delegation for their visit to the company to conduct research and provide guidance, and expressed sincere gratitude to leaders at all levels for braving the sweltering summer heat to come directly to the company to offer targeted support and assistance. He then provided a brief overview of Nantong Construction Engineering Group’s basic profile, covering its historical evolution, current development status, and distinctive features. In light of the current challenging economic environment and the need to achieve high-quality development, Chairman Zhang Xiangyang focused on presenting the company’s strategic plans for the new era: first, implementing a market-expansion strategy to steadily increase the scale of operations; second, pursuing a management-strengthening strategy to drive high-quality corporate development; third, adopting an “going global” strategy to further expand overseas markets; fourth, executing a talent-development strategy to build a high-caliber workforce; fifth, advancing a science-and-technology-and-brand strategy to comprehensively enhance construction capabilities and standards; and sixth, carrying out a Party-building initiative to provide leadership for high-quality corporate development. He also outlined the key issues currently facing the company—such as the construction of the headquarters base, engineering bidding and tendering, and the arrears in payment for completed projects—that require the government’s attention and coordination to resolve.
After carefully listening to Chairman Zhang Xiangyang’s briefing on the company’s research visit, Vice Mayor Wang Hongtao expressed his sincere admiration for Nantong Construction Engineering Group’s long and illustrious history, and fully affirmed and highly commended the remarkable achievements the company has made over the past two decades under Chairman Zhang Xiangyang’s leadership in reform and development. Vice Mayor Wang pointed out that, despite the COVID-19 situation in the first half of the year, Nantong Construction Engineering successfully balanced epidemic prevention and control with the resumption of work and production, maintaining a steady and healthy growth trajectory—a hard-won accomplishment that is truly inspiring. He expressed full approval of the company’s new-phase development strategy proposed by Chairman Zhang Xiangyang, noting that Nantong is currently at a critical and golden stage of economic and social development. He urged Nantong Construction Engineering Group, as the leading enterprise of Nantong’s “iron army” in the construction sector, to further leverage the advantages of private-sector mechanisms, seize development opportunities in key areas such as Tongzhou Bay, the Five-Water Commercial District, and the High-Speed Rail New City, and continue to implement its “going global” strategy by expanding into markets outside the province and overseas to increase its market share. The municipal government will provide strong support and assistance in this regard. It is essential to further deepen and refine the development strategy to ensure its effective implementation and solidify the foundation for high-quality development. In response to the major challenges and problems facing the company’s development, Mayor Wang instructed the relevant municipal departments and the Chongchuan District Government to vigorously embody the “shop assistant” spirit, promptly assist the company in coordinating and resolving issues, and strive to create a favorable business environment for the company’s reform and development. Leaders from various municipal departments and the Chongchuan District Government who attended the briefing also made on-the-spot statements expressing their commitment to supporting these efforts. Finally, Vice Mayor Wang Hongtao expressed the hope that Nantong Construction Engineering Group will further carry forward the spirit of Nantong’s “iron army” in the construction sector, focus on expanding into new construction markets, steadily advance management innovation, achieve high-quality corporate development, and make new and greater contributions to building a prosperous, beautiful, and modern Nantong!
