The Group Company Holds a Symposium with Graduate Employee Representatives

In order to thoroughly study and discuss how to effectively cultivate and develop young employees in the new context, the Group held a symposium with representatives of its graduate employees at its headquarters on the afternoon of February 24. Zhang Xiangyang, Chairman of the Group, together with Huang Jing, Zhong Yiming, Yin Yougen, Qiu Lin and other Group leaders, as well as heads of relevant departments at headquarters, convened with 13 post-1980s graduate employee representatives for an in-depth exchange and discussion.

During the symposium, 13 post-1980s graduate student representatives shared their insights and exchanged ideas on their work, studies, and daily life since joining the company. They outlined their career development plans and goals and offered opinions and suggestions on the company’s current operations and its 14th Five-Year Plan, fully expressing their passion and vision for leveraging their professional expertise to contribute their youthful wisdom and energy to the company’s growth.

Leaders of the Group Company and heads of relevant departments commented on the remarks delivered by the graduate employee representatives and offered candid advice on such aspects as proactively adapting to the work environment, cultivating a positive mindset, fully leveraging one’s strengths, and diligently enhancing professional competence.

In his concluding remarks, Chairman Zhang Xiangyang pointed out that the Group’s development urgently calls on the younger generation to shoulder the important mission of carrying forward the past and ushering in the future while pioneering and innovating. He put forward three recommendations for all young employees of the company to accelerate their growth and development going forward:

First, moral character is the foundation of one’s standing. In its selection and appointment of personnel, the Group has consistently adhered to the principle of combining virtue with talent, placing even greater emphasis on virtue. To this end: first, one must cultivate lofty ideals and goals, accurately define one’s own position, and wholeheartedly dedicate oneself to work and to the collective; second, one must foster a correct worldview, outlook on life, and values, develop strong psychological resilience, and approach work with enthusiasm while enjoying life; third, one must cultivate honesty and integrity, making integrity the cornerstone and ethical conduct the guiding standard.

Second, capability is the foundation of development. We must ground ourselves in our respective positions, intensify professional learning, continuously enhance our job-specific competencies, and swiftly become irreplaceable talents for the Group. First, we must cultivate a mindset of lifelong learning, ensuring that learning accompanies our entire career, pursued with perseverance and renewed commitment over time. Second, we must learn from practice: fully immerse ourselves in on-the-job activities, adept at identifying and resolving problems, and thereby expanding our knowledge and capabilities through hands-on experience. Third, we must learn through exchange: humbly seek to acquire practical experience and job-specific skills from leaders, colleagues, and seasoned workers.

Third, practical action is the foundation for personal development and success. General Secretary Xi Jinping has said, “Socialism is achieved through hard work, and a happy life is earned through struggle.” The Group’s nearly 70-year history of development is, in essence, a story of arduous entrepreneurship and relentless striving. First, practical action requires a down-to-earth approach and starting from scratch. One must closely integrate one’s life aspirations and lofty ideals with diligent performance of one’s duties, overcoming the mindset of seeking quick results, setting unattainable goals, and being restless and impetuous. Only by working steadily and conscientiously, advancing step by step, can one continuously grow and develop. Second, practical action demands deep engagement at the grassroots level and firm roots on the front lines. As the saying goes, “A towering building rises from the ground”—the grassroots are the cradle for nurturing talent. Third, practical action calls for the courage to endure hardship and the willingness to dedicate oneself. We must embody the company’s corporate spirit of “hardship and pioneering” and its development philosophy of “building structures while cultivating people and contributing to society.” Fourth, practical action requires meticulousness and attention to detail, beginning with small tasks. With high standards and strict requirements, we should proactively assume responsibility, carry out our work, quickly become capable of working independently, and ultimately master our respective positions.

Chairman Zhang Xiangyang concluded by expressing his hope that the Group’s young employees will, in the year ahead, gain a thorough understanding of the essence of the Group’s 14th Five-Year Development Plan, fully leverage their strengths in cultural literacy and professional expertise, hone their resilience and cultivate exemplary moral character through their daily work, closely align their personal development with the Group’s growth, study diligently and work assiduously, seize the opportunities and responsibilities bestowed by the times, carry forward the spirit of relentless striving and forge ahead with courage, showcase the vitality of youth, and make new and even greater contributions to the Group’s high-quality development.
