Nanjing Branch: Third-Quarter Inspection Summary and Next-Phase Work Deployment Meeting

On September 11, the Nanjing Branch held a meeting in Hefei to summarize the third-quarter inspection work and to outline plans for the next phase. A total of 62 people attended the meeting, including members of the Nanjing Branch’s leadership team, heads of departments, Grade-I Construction Engineers, outstanding employees of 2020, and representatives of outstanding Party members.

At the outset of the meeting, Wei Jun, Chairman of the Nanjing Branch Trade Union, provided a briefing on the status of the 17 projects inspected during the third quarter, identifying nine common problem areas. He also highlighted specific safety hazards and deficiencies in civilized construction at each project, with particular emphasis on the critical safety risks present at three projects, and outlined the corresponding corrective measures and requirements. He stressed that “there are no small matters when it comes to safety,” and that we must uphold the principle of “safety first, life foremost,” rigorously enforce workplace safety, ensure inherent safety, fortify our safety defenses, and steadfastly maintain the red line for workplace safety.

In his report, Wang Jun, Deputy General Manager of the Group Company and General Manager of the Nanjing Branch, summarized the inspection and on-duty supervision activities for the third quarter, briefed on the performance of various key indicators at the Nanjing Branch from January to August this year, identified five salient issues that emerged during on-duty inspections in the third quarter, and conducted a thorough review and detailed analysis of the factors affecting indicator attainment as well as the current operational landscape.

President Wang’s report also provided a comprehensive plan for the 14th Five-Year Plan period, outlining ten key initiatives, including Nanjing’s overall scale, the proportion of self-operated business, and talent development.

Finally, we are called upon, at this new starting point of the 14th Five-Year Plan, to remain true to our original aspiration, shoulder our mission, unite as one, forge ahead with unwavering determination, and strive to write a new chapter of high-quality development for Nantong Construction Engineering Nanjing Company in the new era!

During the meeting, each delegate drew on their own professional experience and the specific characteristics of the project to deliver remarks on construction management, financial and tax management, business management, safety management, and other related areas.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Cao Guangrong, Secretary of the Party Branch of the Nanjing Branch, summarized the session and put forward three requirements:

First, we must align our thinking, clearly understand the situation, and strengthen our confidence and resolve. The overarching trend in the construction industry remains positive, and the sector is still in a period of opportunity; moreover, we have access to numerous resources, making the future promising.

II. Strengthen business development and fully motivate sales personnel, contractors, project managers, and other relevant staff to secure more projects, deliver high-quality results on every engagement, and make all-out efforts to achieve our business objectives.

III. Continuously strengthen project risk management and control to ensure safe development. In particular, the primary person responsible for project management must demonstrate courage and competence in assuming responsibility, enhance their capabilities, cascade risk management responsibilities down through all levels of the organization, and promptly identify, prevent, and mitigate all types of risks.

The golden autumn brings refreshing coolness and the sweet fragrance of osmanthus; on this auspicious day, joy abounds. We must comprehensively implement the requirements of the “new stage of development, new development philosophy, and new development pattern.” We will fully harness the positive roles of Party organizations, government bodies, trade unions, Youth League committees, and all employees, unite as one, forge ahead with determination, work diligently, pioneer and innovate, and write a new chapter in the enterprise’s high-quality development!
