Chairman Zhang Xiangyang Attends the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Construction of the Xingfu Vehicle Depot and Platform Facilities for Phase I of Nantong City’s Urban Rail Transit Line 2

9 On the morning of the 30th, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Phase I construction project of Nantong Metro Line 2—the Xingfu Vehicle Depot and its associated platforms—was solemnly held at the construction site in Xingfu Subdistrict. Attending the event were municipal leaders including Wu Xinming, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Acting Mayor; Chen Jun, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People’s Congress; Jin Yuan, Vice Chairman of the Municipal Political Consultative Conference; Ling Yi, Secretary-General of the Municipal Government; as well as relevant leaders from the project’s development, construction, and supervision entities. Zhang Xiangyang, Party Secretary, Chairman, and General Manager of the Group Company, was invited to attend the ceremony as the representative of the general construction contractor.
The Phase I project for Nantong Metro Line 2, comprising the Xingfu Vehicle Depot and its associated platform construction, is Nantong’s first station–city integrated TOD project. It is a key municipal urban development initiative and also the city’s first project to adopt “ Track+ The property-development–based depot project is committed to creating Nantong’s first demonstration model of a new-type metro town. The project covers a total land area of 319,300 square meters, with the depot building spanning approximately 92,400 square meters and the two-level platform area totaling about 310,900 square meters. The works are divided into two contract sections; Section 1 was jointly awarded to China Railway Fourth Bureau Group and Nantong Construction Engineering Group. This section is primarily responsible for earthworks and subgrade works, road and plaza works, building construction, elevator installation, MEP installation, interior decoration and fit-out, outdoor pre-embedded and reserved works, other permanent works, site management, new river-channel construction, as well as the formal perimeter fencing and track, landscape, and greening works for the entire “Happy Depot” complex. The total contract value for this section is RMB 1.69 billion, accounting for 70% of the overall project cost.
Amid the thunderous sound of ceremonial cannon fire, Wu Xinming, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Acting Mayor, officially declared the commencement of the project.
