The sun and moon never cease their motion, and the seasons succeed one another; with the advent of a new cycle, all things are renewed. As the New Year 2022 draws near, at this auspicious moment of bidding farewell to the old and welcoming the new—a time brimming with hope—I, on behalf of the Party Committee, the Board of Directors, and the General Manager’s Office of our Group, extend our most sincere greetings and best wishes to all our employees and cadres, retired cadres, model workers, and pensioners. We also wish to express our heartfelt gratitude and warmest New Year blessings to our customers and partners who have long supported and placed their trust in us, as well as to all friends from every sector of society who have consistently shown concern for and support of Nantong Construction Engineering.
The year 2021 was a milestone in the history of the Party and the country. While thoroughly advancing study-and-education on the history of the Party and celebrating the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, we calmly responded to unprecedented major changes in the construction industry, adhered to the general principle of seeking progress while maintaining stability, meticulously planned and deployed our efforts, and made strenuous endeavors. As a result, our enterprise achieved new successes in high-quality development and secured a strong start to the 14th Five-Year Plan period. Our business operations maintained steady progress, with the total value of newly signed engineering contracts and total turnover both surpassing RMB 20 billion for the year; work to prevent and defuse major risks was deepened; overseas expansion made new headway; corporate management reached a new level; information technology development yielded new achievements; and brand-building efforts produced new results. The company was honored with such prestigious titles as “Top 250 Global International Contractors” by ENR, “Top 500 Private Enterprises in China,” “Top 80 Chinese Contractors,” “National AAA Credit Enterprise in the Construction Industry,” “Model Integrity Enterprise in China’s Engineering Construction,” “Contract-Honoring and Credit-Respecting Enterprise of Jiangsu Province,” and “Top 100 Enterprises in Jiangsu’s Construction Industry.” Particularly noteworthy is that the Wuxi New District Xinrui Hospital project, constructed by the Group and co-constructed by JianGong Installation, together with the Phase II project of the Jiangsu Provincial Government Service Center and Public Resources Trading Center, undertaken by the Decoration Company, simultaneously won the Luban Award—the highest honor in China’s construction industry—setting a remarkable record of securing three Luban Awards in the same year for civil works, installation, and interior decoration. These achievements were hard-won, the product of overcoming numerous difficulties and obstacles, and the result of the sound leadership, care, and support from Party committees, governments, and competent authorities at all levels, as well as the concerted efforts and arduous struggle of the company’s broad ranks of cadres and employees.
Under the impact of the century-long pandemic, the once-in-a-century transformation is accelerating, making the external environment for the construction industry increasingly complex, severe, and uncertain. We must both squarely face these challenges and remain firmly confident. No matter how volatile and unpredictable the external situation may become, we must unswervingly focus on doing our own work well. In 2022, guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, we will comprehensively implement the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and all subsequent plenary sessions of the 19th CPC Central Committee; uphold the general principle of prioritizing stability while seeking progress within stability; adhere to innovation-driven development and high-quality development; coordinate and effectively carry out all tasks, including ensuring steady growth, guarding against risks, optimizing the economic structure, cultivating talent, pursuing innovation, and strengthening Party building; strive to enhance our core competitiveness and risk-resilience; endeavor to achieve high-quality enterprise development; and deliver outstanding results in celebration of the successful convening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the 70th anniversary of the founding of our group company!
The old year has already unfurled a thousand layers of splendor, and the new year will see us climb yet another hundred feet. Although our company has made a strong start under the 14th Five-Year Plan, many unknown difficulties and challenges still lie ahead, awaiting the concerted efforts of all Nantong Construction workers to overcome them. In the year ahead, the entire company must effectively apply the outcomes of Party history study and education, strengthen our “four consciousnesses,” firmly uphold our “four confidences,” and ensure “two safeguards.” We must continue to carry forward the corporate spirit of “hard work and pioneering innovation” and steadfastly adhere to our corporate philosophy of “integrity, standardization, innovation, and efficiency.” Drawing lessons from the past to shape the future, we will work diligently and forge ahead with courage and determination, harnessing even greater fighting spirit and tireless effort to continuously open up new horizons for high-quality development at Nantong Construction!
