On the afternoon of July 4, the Group held a work report meeting for the Mamba Power Plant Project Team in Zambia in the Headquarters Conference Hall. Attending the meeting were Group leaders Zhang Zhongda, Huang Jing, Shao Jinman, and Guo Qiyun, as well as heads of relevant headquarters departments. Chairman Zhang Xiangyang attended the meeting and delivered a concluding address.

At the briefing, Jiang Hanxiang, Production Manager of the Zambia Power Plant Project Office, delivered a comprehensive report on the project’s progress. His presentation covered a wide range of topics, including the political and market conditions in Zambia, on-site construction progress, staffing and equipment deployment, construction output value and financial status, as well as project cost management. He provided an objective analysis of the challenges and issues currently facing the project and outlined a detailed action plan for advancing its high-quality implementation in the next phase. Leaders from the parent group who attended the briefing offered their respective comments on the project’s execution and put forward targeted suggestions and recommendations for further improvements.
In his concluding remarks, Chairman Zhang Xiangyang fully commended the work achievements attained thus far by the Mamba Power Plant Project Team in Zambia and expressed heartfelt gratitude to all team members for their hard work. He emphasized that the Mamba Power Plant project represents a new breakthrough for the Group in the Southern African market, and that the guiding principle should be “build one project, erect a lasting monument, and open up a new market.” To this end, he urged the team to spare no effort in ensuring the high-quality delivery of the project, leveraging professional contract performance to showcase the company’s construction capabilities and establishing Nantong Construction as a trusted brand benchmark in the Zambian market. He then outlined four key requirements for the next phase of the Mamba Power Plant project: First, strengthen overall coordination and tackle tough challenges head-on. The team must squarely confront multiple obstacles, including climatic and environmental differences, cultural and social barriers, and the need to adapt to local customs. By reinforcing construction management, optimizing resource allocation, and refining control over critical milestones, the team should employ scientific coordination to minimize non-productive time and ensure the timely and high-quality completion of all phased construction tasks as specified by the owner. Second, fortify the quality-management defense line. Focus on comprehensive quality control throughout the entire construction process, rigorously implementing the three-tier inspection system of self-inspection, mutual inspection, and handover inspection. Quality requirements must be embedded in every work procedure and every stage of the process, with zero-defect standards serving as the benchmark to guarantee high-quality project delivery and continuously enhance the company’s professional brand image. Third, firmly enforce safety-production responsibilities. Adhering to the principle of “safety first, prevention foremost,” the team should both deepen safety-awareness education for all employees to build a robust safety-conscious mindset and increase the frequency of safety inspections while enforcing stringent acceptance criteria. With a commitment to “never feeling completely at ease” about safety, the team must rigorously ensure that all safety policies and procedures are effectively implemented, thereby guaranteeing safe operations throughout the entire project lifecycle. Fourth, energize the talent pool and team dynamics. Based on the practical needs of the project, the team should not only identify and cultivate core personnel on the front lines of construction but also systematically advance employee skills training, assessment, and incentive programs. Through tiered talent development, the team’s cohesion and professional combat effectiveness will be strengthened, providing solid human-resource support for the efficient execution of the project.
